On our second day plan they decided to do Bali Downhill Cycling which is start from Kintamani area . The area which known with its wonderful and amazing nature landscape , the view of an active Batur volcano and lake .

Bali Downhill Cycling Ubud Tour is our big day tour program , a full day tour start with Bali Cycling experience and followed by visiting Ubud Monkey Forest . We start from 7 : 30 from Seminyak in order to get there around 10 am . It was on Monday 5th of June , the traffic isn’t so bad even in the working day . Its probably due to Ramadan , the holly moth for Muslim believer . Some of the Muslim peoples in Bali they reduce their activities during the day for fasting .

We arrive at Kintamani , the Bali Cycling start point after 2 hours driver . It was interesting drive especially when we escape from the city crowd . Driving through Bali village , sometimes pass through the rice terraces , coffee farms and also fruit farm of Mandarin orange . The road is clean and very well condition . In Kintamani we stop at one of the restaurant which is located in the southern rim of the crater . That place offer amazing view of the Lake Batur and Volcano .  Before they start Bali Downhill Cycling Ubud Tour , we serve light breakfast at the restaurant . Coffee or tea with traditional Balinese cake such as Laklak and also fried Banana . Its typical Balinese breakfast indeed .

Here we go , they will defeat 36 km downhill beautiful trek through amazing village landscape , farm . rice terraces in a very quite atmosphere and clear sky .

After 2 hours journey the group arrive back in the finish point and than we drive to the restaurant . Here they serve lunch before we continue to the next and last stop at Ubud Monkey Forest . 

In Ubud Monkey Forest we just do a short and quick sightseeing around the forest . Seeing some monkeys and the main Temple inside the forest . Ubud Monkey forest  is a small forest in the center of Ubud , approximately 60.000 square meter as a habitats of long tailed macaque .

Bali Ubud Kintamani Tour

Bali Ubud Kintamani tour is one of our highlight tour program . Today we had such a great day with Claudia & David from Ireland . Wonderful Bali full day trip to the best sightseeing route toward Ubud and Kintamani . Such a great whole day trip indeed .

Bali Ubud Kintamani Tour during our plan were start at 8 : 30 . We pick them up from The Villas , a luxurious accommodation in Seminyak . We drive toward Batubulan village . The first stop we made there , watching a traditional Balinese dance show . Barong and Kris dance is Balinese theatrical dance accompany with Balinese Gamelan . The dance narrated the story of Mahabharata evic story combine with local Balinese evic . Story of never ending fight of Good and evil . Barong is a lionship creature representing God form who fight with Rangda . Long hair and scary face is a form of Rangda as a quin of evil . The dance show were last for one hour duration with the entrance ticket 100.000 / person .

Ubud Monkey Forest

Our second stop during our Bali Ubud Kintamani Tour is at Monkey Forest . We had about 40 minutes walking around the forest , seeing they monkeys in their natural habital . Ubud Monkey Forest is a small conservation forest as a habitat of 700 monkeys . Friendly monkeys and get use to the people already . Sometimes jump on our shoulders for banana prize .

Some tips while we are there is

  • Avoid the eyes contact
  • Naver touch the monkeys
  • Don’t bring the food or mineral water on your hand
  • And lastly purchase the ticket .
  • If monkeys jump on you , don’t be panic .They will not harm you unless they offended .

Kintamani Village

We arrive at Kintamani Village around noon . The weather were perfect , clear and magnificent clean sky . We are lucky enough to see the amazing view of an active volcano and Lake Batur . Usually during the raining season its hard to get a best view of the crater . Kintamani village is a village located in the southern rim of the crater . The village is one of the best tourist destination for day trip , especially during the day time . A stop over area for lunch with great view of the crater . Most of the restaurant are serving Indonesian food and also magnificent view overlook the crater view . It was amazing stop indeed .

After Lunch we drive back to the south and made some stop at Coffee Farm for great coffee break stop and also visiting one of the ancient Temple , Sebatu Gunung Kawi Holly spring . Great stop at one of the villager farm for coffee testing and see various kind of plantation such as herbs , coffee threes , Cacao and some tropical fruits . Here we served by the owner to tray any kind of coffee and also organic tea product . Its a beautiful stop in very relaxing place and atmosphere .

Our last stop during our Bali Ubud Kintamani Tour program is visiting Sebatu Temple . An ancient temple build beside the spring water . The temple is a place where we worship God Wisnu , a God of protector also known as Water’s Lord . Outside the temple in the middle yard area there are two pool with artificial showers . This pool is a place where we do a purification ritual , clean our body and soul from all the bad influence . Inside the main temples area there are few shrines for God manifestation . The main shrine in the middle of north facing to the south is dedicated to Lord Wisnu .

Entering the temple area will bring you a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere . In the outer yard , there are big hall building  and beside that building is big pool with big gazebo in the middle of the pool . The pool a big numbers of fresh water fish and some of the with amazing big size .

We had an amazing day and after the last stop we drive back to the Hotel pass through Tegallalang Rice terrace .  We didn’t stop but we could see the terrace while we are driving through . It was amazing journey and love to share this experience on my blog with some great pictures in each sites .

Ubud Monkey Forest is absolutely place on your list if you are in Bali island . Monkey forest in Ubud is a small conservation forest  in the center of Ubud town . A habitat of hundreds monkeys protected by the villager around the forest .

Ubud Monkey Forest located in the center of Ubud town . In the corner of famous street call Wanara Wana street . This site is reachable by any vehicle , about 1,5 hours drive from Kuta , the center of tourism in Bali island . A small forest approximately 60.000 square meters as a habitat of long tailed friendly monkeys . The monkeys are divided by 5 main group who own their territory area .

Ubud monkey forest is one of the tourist icon in Ubud . This site attract more than Thousand visitors everyday.  Not like other monkey forest in Bali , the monkeys here are friendly and get use to the visitors . They probably will approach you if you bring food in your hand . Ubud Monkey Forest is a save place to visit , inside the forest in each corner there will be the local peoples in charge to make sure you have a good time and save in the forest area .

If you like it , you can make them jump on your shoulder but only if you got Banana for prize .

In front of the main Temple or at the entrance gate there are some ladies from the villager will offer you Banana to feed the monkeys . Small bunch of Banana will cost you 20.000 and whole bunch cost 50.000 Rupiah . Some visitors might interest to be close with the monkey , with Banana in your hand the monkey will approach you and often jump on your shoulder for the Banana .

The forest well set up for great sightseeing and short trekking . Nice trekking step , wooden bridge that connect the main temple to the Holly spring temple by the river .

To explore a whole area of the forest you will need approximately 30 – 40 minutes . The ticket for entering Monkey forest is 40.000 Rupiah / person .

Things that you should follow when you are in Monkey forest

  • Avoid to bring any food or beverage in your hand  when you are inside the forest .

  • Close well your bag

  • Never  look at the monkey eyes or making eye contact

  • Do not touch the monkeys , even they look cute but its dangerous

  • Stay away from the baby monkeys or do not get very close

  • The forest is free smoking area . Smoke are prohibited around the forest

  • Please don’t feed the monkeys with your own food that you bring from outside such as peanut

  • If you want to feed the monkeys , Banana will provided with sum price
