Tirta Gangga Water Palace is one of the most popular site in the east part of Bali . Beautiful small palace of the latest king of Karangasem regency . This place also known as a water palace , with large fresh water pool from the spring water near by .
Visiting east Bali will not complete without stopping at Tirta Gangga Water Palace . This sites is about 5 km from Karangasem city center toward north in between Karangasem city and Amed . About 3 hours drive from Denpasar or Bali International airport . Lies in Tirta Gangga village near the beautiful and scenic area of Ababi village . Behind the palace is the greatest and the highest volcano in Bali , Agung Volcano . Even though pretty near from the volcano but this water palace is consider outside the dangerous zone of the volcano . In front of the sites is amazing rice terrace view with mount Lempuyang view . Its an amazing phenomenal location indeed .
Tirta Gangga Water Palace is built in 1948 , built and design by the latest king of Karangasem , I Gusti Anglurah Karangasem . He is not only an architect of the place but he is also joining the worker , take apart of the construction . He is joining his peoples digging the mud out of the pool and the garden .

Tirta Gangga water palace is much smaller than Ujung Garden , the other water palace near by this place which is also built by the King . The area of 12.000 square meters divided three different pools in the main area . There are two pools near the main entrance gate with many statues and water tower . Behind that pools is another pool for swimming . On the highest level toward north side is a building of the King Palace , the king former home . Now days become a restaurant and bungalow for the tourist .
