Second day of the final cremation ceremony ritual
Second day ritual is also another precious day of my our Mukur Cremation ceremony ritual . After done the first ritual process on the first day , now we continue the second day of the ritual . Two ritual program which start at 09 :00 , first we call ” Ngangget Don Bingin ” and second is called ” Ngajum Sekah ” .

As explained on my article on the first day of Memukur Ceremony . Memukur Ceremony is a continuation of Ngaben ( cremation Ceremony ) . Memukur words also coming from Words Bhukur , this words common we hear in some old inscription during the Majapahit Kingdom Era . The Hindu Kingdom who rules over a whole Indonesia archipelago around 12 – 15 century . The center of this Kingdom was in east Java Island .

So back from the meaning of Memukur Ceremony is the second phase of cremation ceremony Ritual as a purification of the spirit ( Atma ) . A sanctification of Atma ( spirit ) to be separate from delicate body in the form of human nature and its desire in order to be bland with the creator and become ancestor deity ( holly spirit ) . Usually this ritual doesn’t have to be after the cremation ceremony but can be a few years after . Its depending on our ability , which the cost for this ritual is so high . So with new regulation of our wise Balinese Hindu department that allow us to do a mass Memukur Ceremony Ceremony ritual . In this case the cost will be shared among all the participant and can be reasonable for everyone to do this ritual process .

1 . Ngangget Don Bingin
This ritual is the first ritual on our second day program . Ngangget don Bingin , Ngangget in our Balinese language mean to pick using knife . Don Bingin is the leave of the Banyan three . Why banyan three ? Because in Hindu Banyan three is the secret three , the three of the heaven . And also the leaves of Banyan three is a symbol of holiness , therefore the Banyan three is taking a part of Hindu ceremony in Bali island .
Time when we picking the Banyan three leaves and participants are waiting bellow the threes with long white cloth . Catch the leaves and trying to don’t lets the leaves drop on the ground . While we doing it we will walk around the threes , clock wise direction for tree times .
During this rituals all participants of the Mukur Cremation ceremony Ritual will do praying by the Banyan Three lead by the Monk . After praying than we continue with picking the leaves of the threes . This leaves is a Symbol of the spirit body for the one who will be done the ceremony . That will arrange in a such way to be a Symbol of the spirits which is call Sekah .
Bringing the leaves to the altar to process the accordingly . The woman are welcoming them with performing traditional Balinese dance , Pendet dance ( the welcoming dance ) .
2 . Ngajum Sekah
After we the picking of the leaves than we bring them in the place we do the ceremony . There’s a big altar where all the leadership , monks will prepare the leaves to be arranged . Najum Sekah in an easy words mean to decorate ”Sekah ” ( the symbol of the spirits ) . After ”Sekah ” decorated like a human body than we places back in the ceremony altar .

The second day of the Cremation Ceremony ritual done and the next day ( third day ) is a silent day also call Penyepen . The silent day here mean , there’s no activity during the day . But all the participants will have to stay a whole 24 hours near the ceremony altar . Stay for the spirits that we would like to do the ceremony , give them offering 3 times a day and never forget to light the incense , to replace them all the time whenever finish . Normally a whole of our family will take a part and make rotation who ever will stay . But since I am the only son I will have to do my self and stay almost 24 hours . My wife only come to replace if I need to go back home for showers during the morning time and the evening .
This is the process of Ngajum Sekah ritual . Will be only the person who in charge will know what to do . We only able to watch and give some help . That person in charge also call Serati ( usually woman who understand well about all the offering preparation . Understand well of making Banten / offering )
