Padang Padang Beach isn’t a secret beach anymore
Padang Padang beach is world popular beach in Bali island indeed . The popularity of this beach is not only for surfing but also for swimming , or just coming for picture taking . Especially all the Indonesian visitors who always looking for touristy place . Where they can meet white peoples and having a picture with them .
Padang Padang beach is taken from words Padang which is mean grass . The name given by the local because around that area were just bush and also grass that made the beauty were still pure . But that was long time ago when this area isn’t spoil yet by the hustle and bustle tourism industry . It was only few surfers and local villagers who enjoy the nice , quite atmosphere . Sometimes they having night and secret crazy party . But now the tourism development has change the view of the secret beach become one the most popular area in Bali . There are a lots of tourist accommodation from home stay , surfers camp until star Hotel near that area . And also restaurants , modern shop like mini mart , circle K and other for tourism business .
Padang Padang beach located in the southern part of Bali , in Pecatu village near Uluwatu Temple . Reachable by any vehicle , approximately 40 minutes drive from Kuta center . Around that area there are also many nice beach that popular for tourist such as Dreamland beach , Bingin beach , Balangan beach and Blue point beach . The beach is small white shandy beach with crystal clear water , nice wave that make so popular for the surfers . One time in a year there will be a contest of surfing challenge and the professional surfers from all around the world will show up and join the tournament .
In early 1990 , precisely in the year of 1996 one of the famous music band Michael learn to Rock made their video clip in Padang Padang beach . And in 2010 the famous movie director Ryan Murphy using this place for filming Eat pray and love movie with Julia Robert as the actress . A quite successful movie and boosting the popularity of this beach also some part of Bali island .
Visiting Padang Padang beach is one interesting Bali tour program to the south part of Bali . This beach can combine with some place such as Uluwatu Temple , GWK cultural park and also other nice beaches .
